oscar growth rate after about 7 - 8 inch.

does it slow down?

it's about 7 - 8 inch now from tip to end of the tail. but it's growth seems to be slowing down.

so i'm wondering if it's normal.

Sounds normal to me. Mine grew really quick till about 8 or 9 inches then slowed alot. It was wierd, he seemed to get growth sperts like a teenager gets. Was very hungry for a few days to weeks then slowed down. Mine hit about 11 inches at his 1 year b-day (day that I got him). He is hardly growning anymore but "bulking" up more. Just a stomach with fins...

ahhh........ok. mine's about 6 months now i think. i got him when he was about 2 - 3 inches. so that's about 1 inch a month.

Well not exactally 1 inch per month but averaged through a year, ya. Mine really went fast at times, double the inch a month rate but never was steady at it or for a month straight. Feed him alot of worms, krill and shrimp and he will grow fast.

i have to admit i've been neglecting to feed him constantly for the past month or so cos i'm got tied up with many things.

i'm sad that he forgotten me to certain extent. but i started feeding him again and he lets me pet his head again.

i give him frozen bloodworms along with Hikari Cichlid Gold.
