I have a 5 gallon salt tank and was told that a Tiger shrimp and Watchman or Tiger Goby have a symbiotic relationship and would do well together in a tank. Is there any merit to this? Right now, there are no other fish in the tank. Thanks.

Are you sure the tank is stable enough to suport life at the moment?

The tank is stable enough as far as I know. The tank has been running with no problems and the current occupants for a over a year.

yes they will go together well, but you tank is too small

That's too bad, they make a beautiful combination. What can I put in a 5 gallon hex? So far, I have found the Red Striped Goby and the Trimma Goby.

not a lot, i think dwarf sea horse would be ok, or have an Invert tank. success with such a small tank is hard, i would keep 1-2 cleaner shrimp, and mushies, you would just need to buy a small light. and have some algae growing in there aswell.

The tank already has power compacts on it. I was wanting to get shrimp, maybe a pair of Bumble Bee Shrimp and then a pair of Red Striped Goby. I read that they do not grow much bigger than an inch. Here is a pic of the tank, I know there is a bit of algae on the sides, I was waiting to clean it since the inhabitants just had a bunch of water drained two days ago when they were brought to my house and I did not want to stress them out more so soon.

Thanks, I really like it, too. That was actually the page I have been looking at, I was focusing on the ones that stayed about an inch big. I think I will go see what the local pet store has tomorrow.
