Hey again all,

I had to take a sick day today (sinus infection) and so I stopped by the LFS that happens to be on the way home from the doctor's office. I looked in the first tank and was concerned by the glo-lights, they were identified as albino, but I've never seen them before. And unlike most albino things, which would lack pigment, these seemed like they had been filled with milk...

Normal glo-lights are clearish with the orange stripe, these were milky white with an orange stripe, oddness, are they really albino? or is there a better way to describe them?

Also, since my last test kit met an unforseen doom (my dog took it out into the backyard, not a whole lot left, and what little was got tossed by an unknowing parent) I'm looking for a new one. What do you guys figure is the most reliable, accurate kit I can get in the $15-$20 range? I really can't spare much more than that, and I want to get as much as I can for my money.

Thanks!

I have seen albino Glowlites before and they match your discription, so maybe there is such a thing... As for test kits, you could always go with the hagen test kit. Hagen makes a full kit for $40 cnd and a mini one for about $20cnd. Not sure what that equals up to in us dollars but i'd guess it'd be a dollor or two cheaper.

Well, that's at least a bit reassuring, I still think that somehow that albino label doesn't fit... Oh well, at least they're not just stricken with some horrible disease that turns them funny colors.

I'll look into a Hagen kit, that does fit my price range (I think that the exchange is $1.50 US = $1 Canadian), so the mini one would do quite nicely. With my fishless cycle nearly done, I won't be testing daily for much longer anyhow.

Thanks!

I've also seen the albino glo-lights. They have pink eyes don't they? Maybe I'm thinking of something else?
