I recently added a peppermint shrimp to my tank. The first 2 days he was always under this one cave . Now after a week and a half he is no where in sight. Even when the lights go off I inspect with a flash light and no luck. I was wondering what I could do to see if he's alive, instead if ripping the LR apart to look. The reason being is I heard there more active in groups and if this one's dead I wanna be able to figure out why instead of adding another one and it dying

Thanx for any replies b;)

Just wait it out. It could be that it just molted. They'll disappear for a while after that to allow their new exoskeletons to harden. If it's alive, you'll see it in another day or so.

I agree. There are times that I don't see my pep shrimp for days at a time. The all of a sudden he'll come out and grab a piece of flake food and move back under the rocks.

They're cool little guys aren't they??!!!
