Hi there,
i was in my lfs y-day & came across a small yellow tang must be baby anyway i really fancy this little yellow tang but

Do you think it will grow to be a yellow tang if kept in a small tank??

what`s the minmum size tank to keep a yellow tang in?

i`ve got a 130ltr/28gal tank with live rock plus a cleaning crew (mixed hermits)

Regardless of tank size, it will continue to grow to it's adult size of 8" - 10". Well, it a 28gal, in would die long before reaching it's adult size.

Please...do not purchase this fish.

The difference between fresh and marine is that fresh will grow to the size of your tank, or relatively speaking. marines however do not, they will continue to grow. i would forget all tangs and also all dwarf angles, as aggresion would be a problem in a tank that small.

IMO, evena kohl tang and a flame angel wouldnt fit. You could do a coral beauty, and a pygmy angel, but the pygmys have a very short life span in captivity so i wouldnt recomend it.

A yellow tang is worth buying a larger tank for, beautiful fish

Fresh or marine, fish will grow regardless of tank size.

Neither one of those fish will work for a 28gal. tank either...especially the Tang. No species of Tang should go into a tank that's any less than 90gal, while most would need something bigger than 125gal.

Please...research the adult size of fish, before you buy anything to put into that tank.
