Hi all,
I'm a newbie to this forum. :hi:
My aquarium water often turn yellowish, any causes for that and what could be done.
Thanks and regards.

No driftwood, just sand which covers my undergravel filter and a decoration stone.
Tank size is 10g.

What kind of sand and what decorations do you have in there?
My water has a tan hue to it in my white water change buckets that's normal. Is that what you mean? Or is it visably brown in the tank? Do you live in an area that has alot of iron in the water?

I've discovered the decoration stone that I mention earlier is actually made from iron.
May be that's the reason the water turn brownish, I've already removed it and made some water changed.

Finally a Sithlord came to my aid

Do you do water changes with a siphon? How often, usually?
I didnt think you could use sand with an undergravel? (might be wrong :o )

Weekly water change using a siphon.
I think I got what you're trying to describe :
The sand is blocking the undergravel, meaning all those "waste" is on the sands surface, so when I do water change with a siphon, the whole tank become cloudy.
Is that right?

My undergravel is working just fine. The sand I used is not so micro tiny. (about small bean size).
I do appreciate your questions, thanks.
