Ok , just like to say hello to all . Well i just bought my first salt water aquarium !:D Now the thing is i dont know much about it yet so im going to need some help along the way . I just got the deal of a lifetime , I had to drive a few hours away to get it but from what Ive been reading I did real good. Heres what I just bought today , Its a 180 gal. tank , a really nice oak colered , pine stand , it has a aqua clear 2500 protien skimmer , a wet /dry filter that is huge, this thing is as big as most fish tanks Ive seen , It has two compartments with those bio-balls , with a huge sump heck I like to never got it out of the stand to clean it .It has two doubble lite hoods , with the glass canopys , heater , and a good supply of instant ocean salt , master test kit , it was still set up when i went to get it , with the fish still . The fish was a nurse shark , about two and a half feet long , needless to say i stopped, at a pet shop on the way home and gave it away , because i want a big community tank. Ok you ready for the kicker , I only gave $ 500.00 for all this:eek: The guy was needing $$$ real bad ! So im going to need some help getting this thing going . I got to put a new bottom in the stand before i set it up ,it was saging from the wieght of the wet/dry filter I guess it got wet , so alot of ??? come soon . thanks all , man im glad i found this forum !!!!!;)

Uuuhhhhh, Sharky sounds like you have a lot of work cut out for you. Since I'm a nice guy and hate to see others get stressed, I'd be glad to take it off your hands for what you paid(just to help you out :D ).

Just teasing.....Man, what a deal. Even if some of the equipment doesn't work right, as long as you have no loeaks, you've gotten yourself a great deal. :)

eBay can be great sometimes. :-)

Just two weeks ago I got a similar deal:

125 gallon tank, wood stand, wet-dry filter, UV sterilizer, protein skimmer, two powerhead, 30 pounds of live rock, a lot of live sand, twin overflows, canopy/lighting, and six fish (domino damsel, marroon clownfish, gobi, tang, triiger, and catfish). All for $760.

Okay it's not the $500 for a 180 Gallon, but it's still a good deal!

4 Months ago I got my 209G Used Oceanic Tank with stand, built in overflows, 4ft Wet Dry Filter, External Pumps, Glass Canopy, and 4 36" Light Fixtures for $600. I was extremely happy about it. Originally had it for $999, but put it on sale for having it so long.
