I am designing a canopy right now for a 90gl aquarium. I bought a 48” odyssea 542w halide system. I plan to build the canopy to fit the light. The light itself has 2 small fans in it. My question is in the hood I would think I would have to have some air blowing in to cool down the air trapped in the canopy. My plan is also to keep the back open for air circulation. Is that smart or will I have too much evaporation? I will not have glass top on the tank. Any ideas please let me know. I also read that fans should blow air in rather than out of a canopy incase I should put fans into the canopy what way should they blow?

Thanks
Mike

i think fans blowing in work better. there is less contact with moisture in the air if you blow air in, it goes out the open back of the canopy. if you suck air out, you take the moisture right through the fan. may not be a problem for some fans, but trial and error says it does have an effect on cheap ones.
