Heyya folks. I was considering returning my SeaClone for a Remora C or a BakPak. Any words on which is better? Thanks. And yes, I'll get the Maxi, not the Rio.

I think your tank is about 30 gal., right? If so. either skimmer would skim the tank adequately. That being said, IMHO the Remora's are the best hang on skimmer in the market. If price is no option, I would go with the remora with the MJ 1200 and surface skimmer. Also, Aqua C is known in the hobby as a company with about the best customer service you can get.

Thanks for the response. I was planning to order from Marine Depot. Still haven't decided which yet though. Here's another question though. I don't know why I'd have a problem (better safe than sorry), but do you think I'd have a problem going without a skimmer for a few days? Thanks again.

Is your tank stocked yet? From what I remember you have not added any living creatures to your tank yet. If this is the case, and even if you did, you should be ok going without a skimmer for a few days. Just remember that new skimmers usually take between 2 to 14 days to break in and start working properly.

I recently got a Remora (and a scwd current device) from http://www.inlandreef.com

Great customer service and a great price.
My Remora shipped the same day I ordered (Friday) and I had it the following Monday.

The Remora was easy to setup and is already doing a better job than the Berlin HO that it replaced. I haven't used the BakPak, but the Remora is the best Hang-On skimmer I've used. I can't recommend it highly enough.

The SCWD is arriving today (they had a sale running on them, only $29.95, and I knew it was on backorder before I ordered it).

They offer online order tracking and also sent me numerous emails - confirming the order, informing me of shipment of the skimmer, and informing me of shipment of the scwd.

I'll definitely order from them again - in fact I may be ordering another Remora (for my temperate tank this time)...

Actually, after alot of consideration, I think I'm going to go with a Prizm. After I return my SeaClone and order the Prizm online, I'll be getting money back. I'd really like to get the Remora, but I just don't have the money at the moment. Thanks for the replies.

A decent enough choice for a 30g tank... The Prizm is very popular so it obvioulsy is doing sumthin right =) Getting the Remora would give you more long term flexability (ie. when you get a bigger and tank, and trust me, you will cuz there is no such thing as ENOUGH room...) but when the cash isn't there, it isn't there, right? Good choice for you tank...

FYI, I've read many account of the Prizm and a big complaint are initial micro-bubbles... This is common with every skimmer I'm aware of, and they go away after it get's gooped up properly...

Alright, I've made my decision. Thanks to everyone who responded. I'm keeping my SeaClone at the moment (it's really starting to collect crap) and when money allows for it, say in a month or so, I'll pick up a Remora. Thanks for all the advice again.
