I've had a 55 gal sw with a 304 Fluval. I just acquired a 110 glass tank (48x18x21). I also have a protein skimmer and one extra power head. I use crushed coral for my base which is about 2-4" deep. and also LR approximately 50-60 lbs currently. I'm concerned that I do not have enough filteration and water flow within the tank. I do not have a sump or refugium since I'm not very mechanically inclined I've stuck with the equipment hanging over the side. The tubes from the Fluval and Magum 350 only extend about half way down the tank. Do I have enough filteration and flow? Should I get an extension tube so the intake is at different levels within the tank.

Depending on what you plan to keep, you should aim for flow around 10-20 times the tank volume per hour. It looks like you are well below that. A few decent sized powerheads will help.
Ultimately, you may find the canister to be more trouble than it's worth. Unless you clean it religiously, detritus will break down in there to become nitrate and phosphate to feed algae. Since Live rock is a better biofilter anyway, I'd suggest at least doubling the amount you have, getting rid of the canister, and adding a lot more circulation.
You may also have trouble down the road because of the crushed coral. It is coarse enough to trap debris, and may lead to problems with nutrients down the line.
