i have two clown loaches with ich, and i'm having a problem treating them. they are both currently in a salt bath, and have been there for three days, and nothing is happening. is it supposed to take this long to cure the fish? also, i need to treat the main tank, and i'm wondering if malachite green will affect a striped rapheal catfish? i know other cats are sensitive to medications, but i'm not sure about this one. do i need to remove him? some help with the loaches and catfish would be appreciated.

at this site there are a lot of people that utilize the salt baths. Many times it takes a while to see results. IME clown loaches do not really enjoy salt at all/
I have had luck with ich guard and (hold your breath the chrous may begin) with a 25% dose of malachite green. A few times as little as 12.5% pf recommended dosing level.
Critical in the resolution is fastidious tank cleaning behavior. Gravel vacs and water changes on a daily basis.
Do a med and the water changes and you might see the visible symptoms vanish within three days. Of course you should always medicate for 3-5 days after he last visible symptom.

ive had clown loaches with ich once but what i did is did some searching on loaches.com and did 1 tsp per gal with 50 % dosage of quick cure. I also raised temp to 86
