Hey all I have a 120gal reef tank that has been set up for almost 2 years now and I wanted to get some opinions from people on weather or not I have room for more in my tank. Here is what I have:
FISH:
1 Firefish
1 Sixline Wrass
1 Mandrin
1 Bi Color Angel
2 Clarkii Clowns
1 Blue Throat Trigger

CORALS:
Misc Zoa's and Shrooms
LG (10in open)Hammer
Gonipora
Rose Leather
Another Leather not sure of type
Large Carpet of star polyps
and Medium Galaxia

Other Inverts:
Large Anenome
20-30 Hermits
20-30 Snails

Critters I may or maynot have:
3 Peppermint Shrimp
1 Emrald Crab

I have not seen the shrimp or crab since I put them in the tank (before I had the trigger) There have been sightings of them on occasion (even after I got the trigger) I just dont see them enough to know if or how many are there.

I was wondering how much more coral I could add to the system and I was also thinking of 1-2 more fish (A tang of somekind and possibly a Shrimp Goby or jawfish) The Corals I want to add are mostly SPS's but thats only after I can figure out how to get rid of my Nitrate(2.5) and Nitrite(0.1) even after water changes they are still there. I am adding a small (10gal) refugium this weekend and considering removal of the bio ball from the sump if the refug alone dont help. Thanks for your time and oppinion.

Well the sump and getting rid of the bioballs will help. Cut back on your feeding as this will also add to nitrates. You don't say what your phosphates are, are they high also? Do you have a sand bed? and is it a deep sand bed or do you have crushed coral? If crushed coral this will also add to nitrates and should be replaced with a 5-6 inch deep sand bed or go bare bottom...with lots of water movement. If adding sps you may want to beef up your flow anyway.......other than all that......if thinking of a jawfish or gobie you should have a dsb for them.....you have room for a tang also.......but a smaller one .....

good luck....

I have a DSB as for phosphates I am not sure I have not tested but there is no algae growth other that coraline. I never got a test kit for that due to the fact I have not had a problem with pest algae and figured I didnt need it. Maybe I should get one just to check it. The DSB is about 3-4 inches depending on the spot.

Can you explain to me why and provide links explaining why nitrate has to be exactly zero to keep SPS? (I've got reasons to belive otherwise)
