well ive decided to set up a nice five foot planted tank. My only concern is the budget. I already have a 4 x 2 x 2 ... unplanted, but with 5 five im setting up, im probably not going to make it as high as that ( by that i mena 2 foot high). maybe a 5 x 24 deep x 20 high is in order?
how does this sound to you, because this way i can save money to use else where.
the tank will have a 100% fluorite base, co2 injection, and 2.5 watts of light , or atleast i hope.
ok a few more q's. what sort of lighting would you go for with a tank this size, i was thinking maybe metal halide?, but being in a bedroom it may give off too much heat, what do you reckon. And another thing, how elaborate do you think i hsould go on fltration. i understand that i need good circulation, but i was wondering jsut how much power i wll need. i was targeting hte eheims. i have a pro 2 2028 atm and its good on the 4 x 2 x 2, and am considering another for this tank, because of the ease of cleaning, the price, (approx $550 AU here) and hte turnover. i think a 2217 is too weak, and possibly a 2250 is too strong. what do u think?
