i bought a jar of Wardley tubifex worm cubes, and the directions say to "press the cube firmly against the side of your aquarium will below the water line......." well, i do that, and it doesn't stick... it will stick for maybe 30 seconds, and then it will fall off and float to the top (the whole cube)... so do you guys just drop a cube into the water and let it dissolve on the top and then sink to the bottom or what? last night, i squeezed it really hard while under the water (trying to make it stick to the glass), and it sank, and my cories and gouramis ate off of it for about 10 minutes... and then there was some that floated around in the water for however long it took to get eaten up by all my other fish or sucked into the filter... i'm just concerned about the stuff causing algae or diseases in the tank because it doesn't get eaten in time... should i just break the cube up and put a little piece in the tank? or leave it alone and go back to the tetramin flake food?

Yes, it's better to break the cube in half and feed in smaller portions. When I press the cube against the side of the glass, it breaks up into little pieces too, and sometimes the whole cube just floats to the top. The fish can still eat the floating cube once it's been in the water long enough and it starts breaking up a little. With a smaller cube, I'm not worried so much about uneaten food because the tetras all go nuts eating the worms floating around in the water. A school of 20 Cardinals will pretty much finish off whatever is left of the worms. While I generally don't have uneaten worms, remember to remove uneaten food after a time as with all foods. Use the tubifex worms as a treat but stick with TetraMin as your staple.

thanks for the info... i'll start breaking it up into smaller pieces... it seems like all of my fish get tired of trying to pull it apart before it gets completely eaten... my cories will be all over it for a while, then stop and take a power-nap (that's the only thing i can think of, when they're swimming around and stop moving completely, so when you look at them, you think they're dead) then one of my gourami's will come take a few bites, swim away, then come back a few minutes later.. and my danios just seem to eat the stray worms floating around..

Maybe it would be better to pre-soak half a cube in a bit of aquarium water before letting it float in your aquarium. This way, the worms will be soft enough for your fish to grab hold and rip some worms off. Sometimes I find, as you have, fish give up on the cube because it's difficult to pull off any worms when it's dry and hard.

i cut half a cube of dapnea and feed it with a syringe after melting...

I share the half cube between cardinals in a 20 long and rainbows in an 80 ...
