How do I go about getting rid of unwanted "ickies" in hospital tank?

How do you sterilize the water to ensure that there is nothing left unwanted in your hospital tank so as not to infect any future inhabitants...because after all, that would sure defeat the purpose of having a hospital tank if it did!

Well I would change most of the water then refill. Then let it sit for at least 3 weeks with no fish. Lots of airation helps too.

With no fish the disseases have no way to repoduce and will die off. But it has to be for a long time with no fish....

Try increasing the temp. I know this helps to cure fish with ick, I imagine it would also work just to kill off the ick. I'm not positive about this though.
