Hey, all--
not sure if this is the right forum for this or not, but i was hoping someone could identify a fish for me. a last month, i was down in the caribbean scuba diving, and saw this fish following a nurse shark around. it never left the shark. anyone know what it is?
thanks in advance.
I used to dive in the Caribbean also... well Snorkled, This is a common Bar Jack.. They follow big preditor fish for a tasty levft over snack... When I see them they are usually following a Baracuda that hung out in the area I snorkled in allot.

I will only quess, that following that nurse shark is some kind of Jack. Maybe waiting for some food scraps.

yup, it's very common for "satellite fish" to trail larger fish in order to get scraps. It's surprising to see lots of little fish, that could easily be a meal, following a large shark closely. But it happens often in nature and even in my home tanks. The water column species will follow my bottom feeders when they know they're feeding and are likely to stir up scraps :)
