i had one for about 3 weeks when i first got into saltwater... then i had a huge catastrophe and lost all of my fish when my protein skimmer broke and there was nothing oxygenating the water. that was a good 2 to 3 years ago. what would u like to know about them? they're a specie of grouper is pretty much all i really know

I currently have one and have had him for four or five years. Awesome fish, shy but gorgeous. Hope this helps.

If it's for the 90 gal you have cycling I'd really like to encourage you to start out with some hardier fish . I imagine that you have quite a bit of experience with fw and it won't take you very long to master s.w. interactions etc.
The S.W. Betta is as Mono said ," Hi Mono :) !!!!!!", really shy and retiring and well a lot of salt water fish have some serious attitude . They are all most all territorial and most just don't share well with others ,"they never went to kindergarten after all and I'm exagerating just a tought to over emphasise a point." In short the Betta will pretty much starve to death if it's needs aren't meet are skittish so I'd keep s.w. for a while before attempting.
Just my opinion and I hope this helps.
Max the great slayer of fish ;)

I've had one. It didnt eat for abou 2 months when I first got it, but than once it ate it lasted me years until I sold it and moved on. They are awesome to watch and really smart. One of my favorites, the only reason I dont have one now is beacause I dont have a big enough tank. :(

I have one for about a year now. Very shy when first got it but comes around after adjusted to the new environment. In my experience it’s not an aggressive fish compare to others. He is about 6 inch and gets pick on sometime by a 4 inch volitan lionfish. I feed it about 3 times a week. doing well currently and easy to care for…..a hardy fish…but wish it was more colorful …..
