Various varietys of dwarf cichlids are out there. I prefer Apistogramma's myself.

Just do a search for Dwarf Cichlids - you will find all kind of options

Welcome to AquariaCentral!

I would go for some shell-dwellers and some other top-swimming Tanganyikans, but that would be my advice, and others might have better answers.

I compeltely agree. They are certainly great little fish. Mine had lots of personallity.

Rams are another choice, but they get a little bigger .

Welcome aboard!

So, what are your water conditions where you are at, KAIKS?

That might help to determine if you should have shell-dwellers, Apistos, or something else...

If you have hard water. Do a search on Saulosi's. There is a whole list for a a 50G tank.

If you have soft water, there isnothing like German blue rams and scarlet Badi badi's.

Good luck, :)

Except that Badis aren't cichlids.

Apistos mostly like soft water, shellies hard. Kribs are pretty small and pretty much indifferent to water hardness.

Just about any dwarf cichlid would do. Just make sure you give them their correct water conditions.
