I was wondering if any of you know an Aquaclear can fit on the back of the eclipse canopy or not. I'm thinking about buying a used one, thanks!

If I'm thinking right the eclipse canopy sits across the entire top of the tank and has a built in light and filtering system. Like most any other product I've heard both good and bad things about them.

ya, that's the canopy I'm talking about. Well I was wondering if anyone knows if the eclipse canopy can fit a hang on back/aquaclear filter on the back.

no, you have to modify the Eclipse hood in order to fit an HOB filter. That means you would have to somehow cut a hole away from the back. I would recommend against doing so, as it would certainly void your warranty. I was also thinking of getting an Eclipse myself. I've heard good things about them, like that their flow rate is pretty good. The only thing I'm wary of, is that because it's an all-in-one, that you can't modify components to your liking. Which is exactly what you're finding out here.

Hmm, now that I've seen this thread, it may sway my decision to upgrade my light fixture and filter one at a time. I have more options that way...

I hate to pass it up because it looks so neat and tidy with the combo
It does, doesn't it? I also like that it's totally enclosed so that my surface dwellers can't jump out. I hate using mesh and duct tape to screen them in (it's ugly and the adhesive isn't good for them).
