I am getting ready to start my first SW tank, I am using a 55g tank, So Far I have built an overflow, sump for refugium, got a skimmer, heater and power head. IM getting ready to purchase live rock and sand, and seasalt... Do I need ot let the water sit or anythign special before putting the live rock in.

No just make sure your specific gravity is correct and that the water isn't too cold. I don't know what sort of set up you're going for but, if you're going for a deep sand bed or just a sandy bottom I'd put in the rock, then the sand then a glass or ceramic bowl.
You can also do large water changes as long as your s.q., alk etc are all the same. Your fish won't be able to tell the difference.
What sort of tank are you going for reef, fish only or mixed? What sort of tank do you want ?

I'm just doing a Fish with live rock not really sure what kind of fish yet. I will be using 2" or so of live sand

So the sand doesn't go EVERYWHERE. It will be bad enough without something between the water and the sand. My first sand bed made my tank look more or less like milk for about 4 days. The bowl will cut a few day off the dust storm.
Great Question!

Right, when you are filling, go SLOWLY, it is worth it. I would use a plate instead of a bowl though.
