I have a FW and a marine tank. My FW fish love the left over food from the salties. I'm talking formula one, krill, mysis shrimp, stuff like that. Since these would not be food they would find in nature is it OK to feed it to them, can it harm them in any way. Does anybody feed them these foods?

I think mysids are FW shrimp, but check me on that. I know that many cichlid people feed krill to their charges, so I think that such food would be okay.

As long as you aren't using SW to thaw the foods, you're fine. We feed a mix of both to our tanks, as well. I stay away from the invert foods for my FW stuff, but the SW algae mixes are much better than anything I've seen for FW.

I feed the new Formula One flakes (the best flakes around IMO - made out of real fish, not already processed fish meal) as well as Krill as part of my varied feeding regimen in my FW tank and all my fish love both

I read somewhere that FW fish thrive on SW food and visa versa.
