Either that or another tube worm or sesile snail either way harmless. The xenia might take over but, don't worry about the other critter.

p.s. xenia is one of the best ph/kh meters out there if it starts looking pouty that's a good time to test your water.

it's not a feather duster the hole is about 1/4 inch wide there is a spiderweb like substance comming out of the hole.

Max i got this group of xenia today there are 6 groups on the rock the hole rock only cost me $15 not to bad i think. They are kinda small at the moment but i figure they will soon out grow that rock and i can frag them and get my money back. I also bought some small peices of live rock to transfer my finger leather to when he is rdy. I got them cause of you sayin that last night. While i was at the lfs i told them my ph and carbonated hardness and they gave me some stuff called Reef Builder i am suppose to put 1 tsp to 1 quart of water and use that as part of my make up water.

Sounds like a vermatid snail. Google that and see if that is what you have. If that is what it is, it is a harmless filter feeder. Good for your tank.
