I have a problem here. I want to start to culture copepods for a food source only. I was just doing a water change in my QT tank and to my amazement I saw hundreds of pods on the glass. I recently purchased a Maroon Clown and the person I bought him from had him inside his refugium becasue other fish were picking on him. I recently used this tank to QT my fish with Ick and used Quick Cure to stop the Ick. Here is my question can I use these pods to start to culture? Do pods host Ick? I was thinking I could just take a couple cups of water and use those pods to start up my 5 gallon culture tank. When I took the pods out it looked like my Clown did have a dot on him so I think there is a little Ick present in the water. Can I use these pods and just let them sit for 4 weeks so the ick dies? Can I use Quick Cure to kill the Ick, and not kill the pods? Finally can I filter out the water with a coffee filter and just try to put pods in new water? I know its allot of questions so thanks in advanced, Bye

Pod's don't host ich so you can use them. The water they were in will host ich so give it a couple of weeks b/4 you do. Just feed them good and you'll have a nice colony. I wouldn't try to treat the ich if you just have pods in there it'll starve.
