Hello,
I have a 55gal. tank with alot of different fish in it. A few months ago I got a fish that the pet shop called a Dragon fish. I have been looking everywhere trying to find info. on it. The only thing I can tell you about it is that it can eat almost 200 ghost shrimp in less then a week.
Attached is a pic. of it. Can anyone please tell me what is it and any info. on it??????
Thanks so mch for any help.

Drgaonfish is often used to name the violet goby (Gobioides broussonnetii), but your fish looks more like a kind of bichir (Polypterus species).

Looks like a Senegal Bichir - http://www.aquariacentral.com/species/db.cgi?db=fresh&uid=default&ID=0409&view_records=1

I've seen them labelled "dragonfin" in places. You're going to need a bigger tank for it.

Looks like a bichir (Polypterus sp.). Really neat fish, but depending on the species it will get between 10" and 2 feet long. I think it will be OK with other peaceful fish as long as they aren't able to fit in its mouth. They eat just about any meaty food that sinks...beefheart, pieces of shrimp, worms, pieces of fish, and maybe even pellet food (and ghost shrimp, obviously!). They seem to be fairly easy to keep. I never had one as a personal pet, but we sold them at the store I used to work at. A Google search should yield a lot of info.

I concur. There a positive ID from the two biggest Polypterid fanatics on the net.

Thanks eveyone for all the help! I have learned alot about him. I have always love the uncommon types of fish. But I live in a small town and they are hard to find.
Again thanks everyone.
