I have a 55 gal with a placo, red devil, JD, convict, and a texas. Someone just gave me a 100 gallon. Outside of tanks reads at 73" long, 19" wide, and 19 1/2 tall. I was planning on using 2 of my HOB filters with a canister filter on the 100. But the HOB filters from the 55 will not fit. The lip on the 100 gal is 1 1/4. What are the suggestions on filtration? Also, I have no lids at all. Can I just buy the crossbars and use 3 24" hoods and lights? I need some help. Any suggestions please. Thanks in advance.

If it's a plastic lip, you should be able to cut areas for the HOB's to fit..

Maybe that would work. Good suggestion, would it bother the strength of the structure to do that? I would have to remove like 1/4 inch. Also anyone have help on my hood questions? Thanks

No, cutting the plastic rim will not effext the structure. For the lights, you can go to home depot and get a few 6' shop lights. I don't know what to put between the lights and the tank, maybe a couple pieces of glass.
