Hello all,

As some of you know, i have a 30 gallon reef, with 250 watt metal halide and a 20 watt NO florecent (actinic bulb). My water quality is excellent, since the "christmas crash" my parameters have been stable at zero nitrates, zero nitrites, and zero ammonia. I was wondering if it would be possible to keep an anemone of some sort, probobly a bubble tip. I have a clown, that i belive would host in it, and even if it didnt, it would be another good organism for my tank. I know about a year ago everyone on the board was anti-anemonea, but i feel that with the extreamly strong lighting i have, coupled with the above average water quality that i keep...i will be able to keep on successfully for more than a year. Any help would be apprecieated...especially from people who have had them and had success...as well as people who have had them and not had any succsess. The idea is still up in the air...so honest opinions are very welcome. Thanks all...

I keep a BTA in a 55 under dual 96w PQCFs and it is thriving. I feed it 1-2 times per week with prime reef and silversides soaked in selcon. I also use Seachem's Reef Plus and Reef Trace. Since changing from dual 175w halides, I've found my BTA to be DRAMATICALLY improved, but I cannot explain why because the light intensity has gone from 350w to 192w... Odd, no?

Anyway, yeah, I think if your water is as stable as you claim and you can support other invertebrate life, a BTA should do well in your system. Do not rely on the clownfish (what kind btw? Some will not take a BTA as a host.. Maroons, Tomato and Clarkii are the most likely symbiotes..) to feed the BTA, as I've found mine to be more of a food THIEF than bringer.
