I'm starting a 10gallon nano tank and from the suggestions from the people in the chat room, they told me to post a topic here. My questions are:

1)I need Ideas on what to stock my 10gallon nano once its done cycling. It's going to be located in my room so im planning to make it colorful and vibrant if possible. Any ideas?

2)what's my limit of fish? I was looking at gobies or something in that direction...

3)Is it true that if I add marine salt in the tank will it kill off the nematodes?

let me answer your questions in order of importance please? 3. don't add salt take everything out clean the tank well and then add salt water with a s.g. of around 1.25 ppm salt. That will kill any inverts left over from the f.w. tank.
1&2. depends on what fish you get gobies vary in size and attitude but, you should be able to do a few neon's, a golden, a ranfordei etc. You could also probably as an alternant go for a clown fish or other small fish like a bi-colour blenny etc.
The inch of fish for 2 gallons rule has long since been disproven it depends very much on how you set the tank up and the fish's attitude needs etc.

Welcome to a.c. and I'm sure you'll get some more answers!

1. I highly recomend you look for fish options on your own, as that will present you much more options. This is probably a good place to start looking for your options: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/scateg.cfm?pCatId=2124

2. 1 or 2 3 inch fish would be the most I would be comfortable with in that size tank, however, this is not to say any two three inch fish will get along, nor is it to say any two inch fish can survive in your size a tank.

3. What do you mean by that? Shouldn't you have marine salt in the tank already, if your cycling the tank? (wich you should)

No, I havent started cycling it. Do you guys have any good combinations? Can i have clown fish in it? If so, what do i need for them to survive.

Clownfish are easily-kept creatures. They merely require a cycled tank with good water conditions, prepared foods (all fish appreciate variety), and non-aggressive tankmates. It is not necessary to keep an anemone in the aquarium with them.

You could just cycle the tank with live rock. For a ten gallon tank you could get away with 12-15 pounds of live rock. After it cycles you may be able to get away with a pair of percula clowns or a goby and a blenny. That could be a really awsome tank. I would also shoot for a SG of 1.024-1.026 as this is closer to natural seawater.

I am also setting up a ten gallon nano. Does anyone have suggestions of proper lighting and brands. I know that 40 watts is the minimum. What is the max?
