:) He's doing really well and I have a few pictures I'd like to share. The original thread is listed below when I had no clue what I rescued. His tank is small (5.5 gallon) but its only him in there. One day I will bump the tank to a 10 gallon.

Thanks everyone :) I'm really happy with this new found friend. At first he was very skittish and shy which is understandable. Went through two homes in a short time (his tank at walmart and the temporary one I set up). Now that he's settled in the 5.5 gallon, he's gotten more brave and comes out often. He even dances around when i'm getting ready to feed him. Very cute.

He's adorable. It's making me want to get a knight goby, too, for my brackish tank.

The tank looks great. It looks like he's got lots of things to explore and hide under. Good job!

I just went to my LFS and saw knight gobys. I saw them with clown plecos so it told me they were in FW. I don't know why they don't keep them in BW.

That seems to be a big problem with chain stores. The above goby was also in FW when it was "rescued". Technically, most brackish fish can do in freshwater for some time, usually in the younger stages I think. But as they age and for the long-term, they definitely need to be in brackish water.

He's very cute and yes I have tons of places for him to hide. Well being for any animal to have a place to retreat when threatened. Basically I know when he's out, that he really wants to be out and not just forced to be visible. I hate when people put a bare tank with 1 plastic plant and say its cool because they can see the fish. I think this is very stressful for the critter....so my tanks are usually so 'natural' that I rarely see them :)
