betta shedding?

I recently got a betta, and my bf did, too. They're in separate tanks, and his is doing very well, but mine just sits there at the bottom of the tank. he has this whitish skin hanging off of him like he's shedding, and I would like to know what it is, if someone would be kind enough to help.

Sometimes when their tails are damaged, the tissue looks kind of clear when it grows back. However that doesn't sound like what you're seeing.

In any case, I would suspect infection, possibly fungal. Bettas do not shed. Any other symptoms?

no other symptoms, ecxept that he just goes blah at the bottom of the tank, and I have yet to see him eat.

Is there any detectable ammonia in his tank?

It does sound like a fungel infection I have lost a few to this. They just slow down and then..........blup belly up:(
