I just bought a 65 gallon tank. My LFS told me i could fit 2 millinneum 3000 filters and my prizm protein skimmer on the back of my tank. well she was wrong. I can fit one and the protein skimmer or both and no skimmer. I am wondering if a canister filter will work. i dont want any biomedia in it just a mechanical and carbon. i want a fuge but no room for it right now, any suggestions. in the tank i will have 5 power heads and the m3000 flows 280 gph. any suggestions
thanks
casey

Loose one of the M3000's. With 5 power heads and 1 M300 you should have plenty of flow. A skimmer is much more valluable than an extra power filter.

Ok

but i wasnt going to use to m3000 and it was going to be either or but do you think one will have enough mechanical and chemical for a 65? if so i can live with one and a protein skimmer, is the prizm ok for now? i have had it a year. i want to upgrade when i have the money,

so does everyone think

a Millenneum3000 and 4 or 5 power heads with a protein skimmer will be sufficient for my 65?

You'll want a lot of live rock for your biological. A lot of people are going with live rock, skimmer and power heads and that's it. The prizm is ok--there's better, but there's far worse.

Anyone else have some advice...agree, disagree?

it's odd for these forums not to be filled with opinions. Just give it some time. People will chime in.

I'd loose the skimmer and set up a fuge lol. j.k. ,"well sort of" good advice.
