AP nitrite test reading

I posted in general about this on accedent, it was supposed to go here.
When using the american pharmaseutical nitrite test, I get a greyish green reading. My nitrites have been going down, and yesterday they were .5ppm. I remember someone posting that they had the same problem, but I couldn't find the post. I thought I remember they said that the greyish-green color meant 0 nitrite. I just wanted to make sure of this before I go out and get fish. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have an American Pharmaceuticals' nitrite test kit and the colour of positive tests is pink.

A reading of 0ppm would be clear in my test kit.

Do you not have a colour card with it?

I find that I have to go to a window to be certain of the color, incandescent bulbs at the sink throw the color off.
