I Live in Little Rock,Ar and today I went to Home depot To see about some sand. I asked for Southdown tropical play sand the Worker said they did not carry it. I then asked if there was a way to have some shipped to this store. He went to a manger and the manger advised me there was no way to transfer the Sand. So My next option is What??????

I am wanting to Mix Live sand with reg. sand but since I can not get the southdown what other sand can I use.

You can use any fine grained sand that's available. Other play sand, or blasting sands will work fine. Many people use the pool filter sand.

Check if they have something that is a little smaller grained. The increased surface area is where you benefit the most from sand, so the smaller the grain size the better off you are (though you don't want to go all the way down to silt!)

Check out Menards. I use their all purpose play sand. It's white and finer than sugar.

You know I don't know. I guess I just always took Mendards for granted. I'm still pissed we don't have Checkers Burgers and Long John Silvers. However, we have Culvers:D You could probably go to any major hardware store and find something. Crap, now I want a milkshake...
