Good luck. I looked online when looking for an acrylic 100 gal, and wasn't able to get lower than $364 not incl. shipping. What I ended up doing was wait until it was on sale at my lfs, & got it for $289. Patience pays off!

If you do a lot of business with a particular lfs, you might ask if they're willing to cut you a deal.

That tank @ Wal-Mart is actually a complete kit with heater, filter starter chemicals and is a pretty good deal - I spotted that this weekend.

i have one of those, it only comes with one filter and i didnt see any filter starting chemicals.... i might just get another one of those... i have a 125g, but i have an oscar and some cons in there... if i can find someone who would want them (and take care of them) i would get rid of them, but i dont want to just give them to someone who doesnt know anything about fish...

since you are somewhat in my area, you should check out www.recycler.com. there is a fish/aquariums section that sometimes has GREAT deals. of course, just about everything is used, but a lot of the items I've got in the past have been in good shape.

in the past I've came up on a 90 gallon (tank & stand with access) fpr $25, 2 50's (tank & stand) for $5 each and other really good deals, a complete 37 gallon Eclipse system 3 for $20. and they have listings all the way to Vegas and beyond. it may be a little bit of a drive, but the money you save will be well worth it.
