I happened to come upon a stone I found at the beach a long time ago, much like that of dead live rock. I cleaned it off and had it in my tank since I started it.

I just picked up some live rock recently and I have put the two together. I've read that the organisms will slowly migrate.populate other rocks, which is what I want.

If there anything I can do to stimulate or aid this progress?

Thanks.

Maintain clean water, for the algaes you can try roughing them up to take a few flakes off--the flakes will settle and start growing. It really depends on the kind of organism you want to move. Bacteria will colonize anywhere they can, while other things will move of their own accord, while still others will send out polyps, etc.

Ditto to what Orion said, and make a point to keep alkalinity and calcium at ideal levels to encourage coralline growth. Bright lights help as well.
