Hey,
I've got a 90g heavily planted setup with a schultz aquatic soil substrate. I have some red tailed goodied fish, 4 palm size angels and 4 quarter size angles. A friend of mine that is moving away recently gave me a fish that he didn't want to take with him. The fish is a Protomelas Spilonotus "Tanzania." He tells me it is peacefull but other than that i do not know anything about it. The fish is about 4 inches long. Could it go in my 90g or would the other fish become meals? Thanks
Try googling it, I did and just did a quick browse, saw that they get to about 8inches. I would do a search, see what you can find out and if you still have questions try posting this in the cichlid forum. Good luck!! They are beautiful fish!

im not firmilliar with that name, but if you could post pics and a site on info i could tell you if your angels will be o.k. with it.
BTW, 8 angels will make a good sized shoal in a 90 gallon. what is your pH? if its low, there is a chance you could get a spawning pair. my pH is at 8.0, and its to high for them to breed.....

Alright thanks,
i did some google but i guess their not a real well known fish as there is not much info.
Here is a link to one that looks identicle to mine:

My ph is around 7.0. I'd probably rather not get a breeding pair because i'm no longer set up for that kind of thing. But whatever happens, happens.

i wouldnt keep africans with angels, and thats because many of them are to agressive for the angels. i would move him to a different tank

Agreed mixing africans with fish other than africans is a BIG NO NO lol. I would try and find him a new home of atleast 40g+. Oh by the way if you had any questions on breeding Angels you can pm me I breed tons of fish and Angels are my biggest thing I have 17 breeding pairs so shoot if you have questions.

Ok, so you guys were right. Got a breeding pair, eggs on one of my plants and two hand size angels that got all the other fish hiding in the corners. Now whats my best bet to approach this? Do i just leave them be? The only other tank i have out here right now is a 15g if i was to move anything.
