We have a rock in our SW tank that appears to have cotton-like strings coming out of it. Sometimes longer than others and that's when I noticed it was probably not just particles of dust or something.
Today I found the little critter and was wondering if anyone knows what it is and if it's dangerous to our fish and coral. It look like a small piece of fuzz. Mostly beige with some red in the middle. Coming from all sides are thin, white stringlike tentacles that extend and contract.
I was able to capture him because he attached himself to the glass but I know there are probably more in there.
Any ideas on what it is? And any suggestions on how to get rid of them if they are harmful?
