Came with old tank in box of odds and ends. May be 30 years old. Does this look like a DIY CO2 ? The tubing is awfully skinny compared to airline tubing. It seems to be silicone. Not sure it's airtight at the mouth bottle. Should I try to use it ?

Not sure if its vintage or not. But it is an east DIY project. You could make a new one yourself for about 10 bucks. The bottles are actually for mixing something that will create Co2 (yeast water and sugar) the top right peice apears to have some sort of difuser (the actual "reactor") that would sit in your tank like an airstone. It doesnt look that old to me.

It does look like a CO2 set-up, but one of the bottles is missing (I see the cap for it). There would have been 2 bottles, the first to hold the yeast, sugar, and water, and the second to act as a bubble counter.

It could also have been a brine shrimp hatchery. Or some sort of winemaking or other non-fish hobby equipment if it's old- a moisture trap for an airbrush or something else.
