It shouldn't bow if the corners of the aquarium sit squarely atop the 4 legs of the table and the legs are nice and sturdy. I have a 20g on a side table that has 4x4 for legs and about 2" thick top. It's very stable. As long as it's the legs supporting the aquarium, and not some horizontal board, I shouldn't think it would be a problem. Some of the aquarium stands they sell, though adequate, pales in comparison to my side table in terms of sturdiness. You can go take a look at the wood or metal aquarium stands in stores and see if your table compares well with those or not. Of course, your table shouldn't be lightweight, sway or can be easily tipped over.
