Has anybody tried this product and if so, is it really working? According to the company that makes it, I quote: "All natural, biological algae control and ammonia, nitrite and nitrate reduction for fresh and saltwater aquariums."
So far I have been using Stress Zyme, which in my opinion does wonders (especially with new tank set-ups) for establishing nitrifying colonies in your tank. However, I still run into infrequent and small but still somewhat cumbersome problems with algae. So I wonder if it would be worth it to spend few more bucks on this Algone product that in addition to keeping your water balance in check is supposedly also great for fighting the algae.

Well, I just took to plunge and bought some. I'll let you know how
it goes. It can't hurt! (I hope) and if it helps, that will be good. I'm putting it in by tank this weekend. I'll do water tests, before, and
after and see if theres any change. Tho my water quality is usally pretty good. I want to see if it will help with the algea I have.

I would greatly appreciate it. I think we are trying to find a product for the same purpose. My water quality is to say the least "not bad". Actually, not to brag...but it's excellent. Of course the nitrate levels will raise occasionally to above 20 ppm, but everything else is kept in check. Ammonia and nitrite is always at 0, PH is extremely stable and Carbonate Hardness seems like never wants to change. But I think because of my rather high end PH (about 7.6), the algae finds a way to get into my tank anyway. If this Algone product lives up to what it claims, it would make my tank maintenance limited to occasional gravel clean up and partial water changes....bye bye to algae scrapers.
