Hello everyone,
This is my first post here.wooohooo!!!
I have 6 freshwater tanks. My biggest which is a 35UK gallon, i would like to convert to a marine tank. I only want a lightly stocked aquarium. 3-4 small fish maby and a few inverts.

I have
-tank
-lid and light
-stand
-the jewel internal filter
-heater

i think thats about all i can use for the SW tank. And i will need

-Protien skimmer
-Live rock
-hydrometer
-salt
-substrate
Please add things i will need to this list

I have been doing research for about 6 months now about sw fish, clean up crew and the basic maintaining of the tank. I would like a FOWLR but i can only get 10KG and i realise this isant enough but i will add more when i can.

the fish i would like are
-pygmy angel
and a few other.
suggestions wanted!!

Thanks everyone
Sean

A good set of test kits & a marine white light bulb would be good for the live rock you would get more growing on it as for fish well there's lots & lots people have there own favourites but here is a few common nice fish,
Coral beauty are flame angel
pair of clowns are skunks
scooter blennie
coral goby , blue cheeked goby
fire fish (bit boring shy)
royal grammar
dewarf wrass`s

If you have used copper based med`s in the tank well you will have to give the tank a real good clean&scrub with fresh water a few times & white vinegar & your filter maybe a good idea to replace but then again after a good clean may rid of any copper left behind from your fw med`s if you have used them....

Thanks s25, NO i have never used meds in the tank. Oh i have the light bulb, i bright white one. I have tested it on my FW hood. It fits. ah,Test kits thats what was missing. Is my situation with the LR okey.
Thanks
Sean

well more live rock would be better but you only need 17 half kg of lr if your wanting it to filter your tank with no additional filters but as your running a filter as well then it wont be a problem as such 10kg is better than nothing good luck

Hello, Betta
Welcome to saltwater!
I'd just get 7kg of coral rubble ,"dry weight" and add that along with uncurred live rock by the time your cycle is over most of your bacteria will be well established. It won't look like live rock but, it will help you with your water quality. It will look more like your,"real" live rock over the next several months and years. I'm not sure how much a UK gallon is though so forgive me if I've overlooked something.
hth
and welcome aboard
