Should I transfer my betta to the main tank? I mean, will 2 black neons and 2 silver tips nip? I don't want "maybe" or "be cautious", i just want a straightfoward yes or no (and maybe a description/detail why:)).
If yes:
a)I add him now? (though nothing's been happening, i'm still going with the ick treatment)
b)I add him later
c)Changed mind, don't add him

man, i sound like a servey :joke:
 
well, he's crammed in a 1 gal tank thingy with just a plastic plant, no heater, no filter, no aerating thing, just one plastic plant. I want him to enjoy my main tank which is big with lots of plants :).

will he jump out? Is it true betta jump? I have some spots in my tank without cover... near the filter area, there's a 2 inchx2 inch open space and same on the other side...

should I cover it with aluminum foil or something?
 
Hi,

Your betta should be fine with the tetras. But if you see them picking on him, you should move him right away. I've never heard of bettas being jumpers, but you should still put some thing in the gap just incase.

what should I put in the gaps?

can i add him, even though my tank is still on ick treatment (well, not really. Stopped adding salt since ABSOLUTELY nothing's happening. Only thing suspicious is well, nothing! My pleco's grown that's all :duh:)
 
I wouldn't move him until the ick is gone--it is just too risky, then I'd move him. I QT'd 7 barbs before adding them to my other barbs, but then the other barbs got sick, so I actually ended up protecting the new fish from the old fish.
 
My betta lives quite happily with about 10 black neons and a many other tankmates. I believe it's very rare for a betta to jump, they seemed to be pretty peaceful and slow moving creatures :)
