I bought a couple new plants the other day at my LFS. For reasons unknown to me, one of my anubias nanas lost its leaves, and stems, the next day.

I decided to keep the rhizome in the tank, to see if it would start growing again. I looked at it today, and there is this strange bubble thing on part of the plant.

What is it?

LOL, fball, there are no aquatic caterpillars. looks like snails eggs to me, but that is a very rough guess. I really have no idea. some weird plant disease?

LMAO!! I have no useful imput, I'm sorry, I just needed to compliment the hilarity of that diagnosis.

My girlfriend said the same thing when she saw it...

My thoughts are it's fungus or some kind of slime mold
doh, right paula! I don't know why that never occured to me... i'm actually studying primitive fungus now.

that is fungus growing on the tip of an anubias barteri without leaves

i get the same type of stuff on the bubbler for my DIY CO2. just brush it off or siphon it out. or both.
