All of the new plants for my new tank are doing well except for the Corkscrew Val. It came slighlty brownish green with what looked like some algae over the leaves. I just dropped it in and planted them (wiht only one tank and it being virtually empty, it IS the quarantine tank).
The CO2 injection has really kick started the stem plants while the val still languishes by comparison. The 12 hours of 220 watts on the 75 gallons has provided plenty of light - enough to begin a crop of algae anyway. (I just ordered SAEs and shrimp). The lights also seem to heat up the tank a bit, from the goal of 25*C to 27*C plus. This might be the problem, if I have one.
Will the vallisneria get greener and lose the sickly color?
