Used info off the site to build my stand. What a great forum! Just thought I would post my progress. Still have to build the canopy, stand skin, and doors (maybe droors, or a slide out board for working on) before tank gets here on Saturday! 240 gallon, 96x24x25.

Think it will hold? Anything you wish you added to your stand that you think I should take into consideration, while the timing is right?

Cheers.

mvigor, acura vigor per chance?

Eh...the beast, I decided that I would try my hand at body work, thus the white bodykit. I plan on painting soon - possibly another diy project but I highly doubt it. (exhaust, header, intake, skunk2 coilovers on the way, and 16's that im refinishing - if you were serious)
And yes little car, especially moving to TX in the land of the truck...hyyuck, hyyuck! no offense meant, i just happen to live in the sticks...
otherwise money is going toward my tank. Need to get the civic fixed up and use it as a daily driver, albeit a bit too fast and the furious, what color you think I should paint it?
I'm thinking imola orange, perhaps a matching tank stand?

Haha! i would have thought that would be a no brainer marketing move for them.
I love your 55! I'm still trying to decide what to do with the new tank once it arrives. Decor is definetly going to look like yours -- crazy vine thing.

Still a civic basically... a little faster looking I guess.
The body kit arrived as that white color.

Ok, I know in football a lateral is a backwards or sideways pass, same with Canadian ball. Not too certain what 2x4s you are talking about though... could you elaborate. Do you mean the vertical supports? maybe another row of them down the middle?

I would double up the 2x4's, adding another 2x4 between the top and bottom frame would make a world of difference. If you have any electrical skills you could wire in some electrical boxes right into the stand. You could also wire up a set to a switch and use those for your pumps and heater. When it comes time to do water changes you just flip the switch and when your done flip it again.

Angle braces across the length and width of the stand? That will sturdy up that bad boy. Figure that you are going to have 1920 pounds of just water in there. Add in rock and such, it's going to be very heavy.
