Which kinds of fish live the longest? I don't like the kinds that will only live a few years but I don't really know which ones to get. What's your opinion?

I've had a clown for 8 or 9 years a six line for about the same. I think that most s.w. fish live longer than their fresh water cousins. Just stay away from neo gobies and close kin they make it for about a year for example.

A well-kept reef chromis can possibly live for 10 years.

I have to disagree with this statement. Angelfish can live for 15 years, someone around here has a 17 year old yoyo loach and deb had a 28 year old pacu. Those are some pretty old freshwater fishies.

Just don't tell my 3 year-old greenbanded goby. It's in the same genus, and makes me wonder if the statment that neons only live a year is really true.

It's not quite true I had one that lived for about a year and a half and I promise mum is the word around your fish! I said most jodi look at lunch fish for example they out live either of those two by decades.
