I'd like to mail a freind some cuttings of a plant that propogates via runners. What is the best way to mail them. I expect the mailing to take 3-5 days and because the plants are local I think they could take a light freezing and survive.

Previous experience, advice & suggestions?

I put 'em in a sealed plastic bag. Seems to work.

Anyone in the UK want some Cabomba?

Soak a couple of pages of newspaper. Gently wrap the cuttings in the newspaper. If you can find one big enough, put the wrapped cuttings into a baggie and then into a large envelope. It'll be easier if you write name and address onto the envelope before enclosing the plants. Try to put a piece of cardboard in as well to keep the envelope from being folded.
Mark the envelope FRAGILE as many times as you can. Pop that puppy in the mail and there you go........
