I've been wanting to get a betta for a while now and decided to do a 2.5 gal set up and had a few questions. I can't seem to find the best live plants for a betta and Im having trouble deciding what substrate to use. Any suggestions?

Well ya want something with big leaves...or it will just lie on the gravel...aaaaaa java fern? possibly, cause i am guessing it will be a low tech aquarium.
sand is a very nice substrate, im going to be using it for my bettas. java moss is also great for bettas. they don't use substrate so spread some on a coconut shell or rock, and they will just grow all over the thing. bettas love to lie down and rest in it.
