Hi All,

Does anyone know or has anyone tried using water from a jug/btrita filter for water changes?

Seems like it might remove some hardness for my 12 gal. tetra tank.

Any thoughts?

It would remove some, but probably not enough to make your tetras happy. I would suggest that you just use distilled water or R/O water.

I use a Brita filter for drinking water-- even with our excellent Croton/delaware Aqueduct. But is there anything to it beyond some granular activated carbon?

You may want to check on the Brita, they used to specifically exclude use of the output water for aquaria due to metal toxicity (silver perhaps?).

Hey Aquatrippe,

I'm in the same situation as you with the water. How's that Tap Water filter working out?
