with molly it hard to tell since they dont get the atypical "gravid" Zone. It's possible

Those are really nice mollies btw, kinda short though, I almost think they're platies.

From the pics, I'd say they're pregnant, mollies usually are anyways when you buy them. As long as their swimming is fairly normal i.e. no trying to swim down but floating upwards, no sinking to the floor, etc... I wouldn't worry about any kind of bloating.

Deffinitely get a breeder net ready (i suggest those over those plastic ones) and put in some J moss and you'll get a really high survival rate with the fry.

Good luck! HTH

It looks as tho what you may have is a balloon molly that isnt typical of the way a true balloon molly looks. After all, balloon mollies are just a genetic defect in a reg molly. The shape of the mouth gives it away as being a molly. Your fish may or may not be pregnant. Most likely she is, but I'm thinking shes a balloon molly as well and that is what is making her look so "fat".

thnx for the info, im not gonna worry about trying to save the fry, ill just let my betta or my RTBS sort the fry out. maybe down the track sometime i might try keeping them but not at the moment.

they are not swordtails (i know that for sure). the first pic is actually 1 molly with a reflection, my second molly doesnt have the big stomach which leads me to believe ive got a male and female because they were not fat when i bought them.

the fat one kinda swims weird, struggling but not bad enough to think something is wrong.

does anyone have a pic of a balloon molly so i can compare?

ah yeah i can see a resemblence between them, well i guess i just wait and see if another 6 months goes by then i know its a balloon molly
