Recently my aquarium plants are turning reddish at the tops, and the leaves are curling slightly. Previously they did well. Any help would be awsome. Any tank specs you need i'll do my best to answer.

THANK YOU

I accidentally left my lights on one weekend (forgot to cycle the timer). and my hygo did the same thing, curled up and looked funky. Try reducing the photoperiod to 8-10 hrs. The red is a good sign. When they are reciving adaqute light they do that.

Yes, quite a few aquatic plants get red under high light like near the water surface.

When I read the title I had the image of a plant climbing out of the tank and rummaging through the fridge :D.

O.K thanks for the help. The plants are hygo varieties. Recently algea been fastly growing, could the plants need co2 to meet the light I provide? Plus there are new little holes in the leaves coul this be from the peco algea eater?
Thanks again for the help.

I recently read that small holes (pinhead sized) in leaves might be a sign of a lack of potassium. Try adding some ferts.

Some species of hygros will color under bright light, like h. polysperma.

CO2 will help control the algae up to a point, then you need to ensure that you provide enough nutrients for your plants. As was pointed out, pinholes are caused by potassium deficiency and curling leaves may be calcium deficiency. The fast growing algae confirms that you most likely need to add or increase fertilizing, read the sticky about fertilizers.

What is your lighting setup in terms of wattage compared to tank size?
